Hand-Sorted Cobble Stones in the size range of 80-120 mm

Cobble Stones 80-120 mm are the most commonly used and appropriate stone type for traditional cobblestone paving.

We offer these stunning Nordic cobble stones in the size range of 80-120 mm. These stones exhibit a fantastic color variation, especially when wet. Cobble stones are typically used for paving/knoldebro, and unlike many other paving types, this style only becomes more attractive over time. Cobblestone paving gives an authentic and classic look, and we are seeing increasing popularity for this form of historic paving. Cobble stones bring nature close and work wonderfully around fire pits and courtyard environments.

Note: Stone sizes are always measured based on their narrowest dimension.

Hand-Sorted

These stones are hand-sorted, which means that only an absolute minimum of small stones and sand are included in these Maxibags. This way, you avoid having a large amount of leftover material compared to purchasing machine-sorted Maxibags. As these cobble stones are hand-sorted by our own staff, stock availability can be limited. If you are unable to purchase the desired quantity, please contact us as soon as possible, and we can provide you with an estimate of when they will be back in stock.

Stones for Gabion Fences/Walls

Cobble Stones 80-120 mm are often used to fill gabion fences and walls. These beautiful gabions are filled with this classic Nordic stone. The same method is also used for raised beds made with gabion fences, creating a very attractive and classic look.

Laying Cobble Stones

Cobble stones can withstand heavy pressure, and any unevenness will not be as visible as it would be with regular paving slabs. However, it is always a good idea to lay a stabilized gravel foundation. The thicker the layer, the more weight it can support.
We recommend laying the stones in paving sand or laying gravel, which makes it easier to create a level surface. Each stone should be rotated and adjusted to find the flattest side. It takes time, but it’s worth the effort. The small irregularities, color variations, and different sizes create a truly beautiful appearance.

1 m³ covers approximately 7-9 m² of paving.
