Drainage - Sand, Stones & Gravel

Drainage is a crucial aspect of many construction and gardening projects, where it is essential to divert excess water to protect buildings, gardens, and landscapes from flooding and moisture damage. A well-designed drainage system not only ensures efficient water diversion but also helps improve the soil's structure and functionality.

Quality Products for Drainage

At Maxibag.dk, we offer a wide selection of drainage products carefully chosen to meet various needs. Whether you need to protect sewer pipes, improve soil drainage, or establish a soakaway, we have the right product for the job.

Here are the 6 products we offer and their applications:

Drainage Sand 0-2 mm

Drainage sand 0-2 mm is the finest drainage product we offer. It is a sharp-grained, fine sand that allows water to seep through effectively. This product is excellent for mixing into a lawn to improve drainage and for laying around pipes to protect them while ensuring water is drained into the soil.

Drainage Gravel 0-8 mm

Drainage gravel 0-8 mm is a slightly coarser drainage product. It contains filter sand along with stones up to 8 mm in size.

Drainage Gravel 0-16 mm

Drainage gravel 0-16 mm is similar in composition to 0-8 mm but includes stones up to 16 mm. It has excellent drainage capabilities, allowing water to filter through efficiently.

Drainage Stones 4-8 mm

Drainage stones 4-8 mm are Danish natural stones that are excellent for drainage. They can be mixed into soil, used for infiltration, or applied around drainage pipes, making them very versatile.

Drainage Stones 8-16 mm

Drainage stones 8-16 mm are medium-sized drainage stones, ideal if you need a moderately coarse product. They are often used for establishing soakaways in gardens.

Drainage Stones 16-32 mm

Drainage stones 16-32 mm are also frequently used for soakaways in gardens. They have outstanding drainage properties and are highly versatile.

What Is a Rainwater Soakaway?

A soakaway is a water reservoir you can construct to manage rainwater. It involves digging a hole in the ground, usually at the lowest point of the garden, and filling it with stones. This stone-filled hole can absorb a significant amount of rainwater, allowing it to filter into the soil, thereby preventing water from pooling in the garden. A layer of soil can be placed over the stones, making it possible to grow grass or plants on top.

We are experiencing a time of increased rainfall, with heavier downpours than ever before. As a result, there is a growing demand for these products. If the soil cannot drain water effectively, it becomes difficult to maintain, and mud takes over. Finding a good drainage solution is, therefore, a worthwhile investment.
