A Wide Selection of Soil Products

The most important approach when choosing topsoil or planting soil is determining which plants you will be working with. Are you planting something new, or do you need to improve the existing soil? Do your flowers, plants, or bushes need revitalization to bloom beautifully once again?

It's essential to distinguish between two things. If you have existing soil that needs renewal, you should improve the soil. Our soil conditioner is 100% natural and primarily made from horse manure. It is very versatile and excellent for giving new life to your plants.

If you need new soil, there is raised bed soil for your raised beds, greenhouse soil for your greenhouse, planting soil, and topsoil for your gardens. If you need acidic soil, you’ll need peat or rhododendron peat, and if you're planting new roses or revitalizing existing ones, our rose soil is the way to go.

Some types of soil are quite similar, and it can be hard to know which one you need. We are working on creating a guide to help you choose the right type of soil for your plants. Our skilled staff and plant experts are ready to guide you, ensuring you get the exact soil you need.

Unfertilized Peat

Peat Moss is a fantastic natural product that has been harvested and naturally has a low pH value of 4 – 4.5. Peat is excavated turf and is used for soil improvement, providing nourishment and aeration for your garden beds. Additionally, peat is excellent for retaining moisture in your garden, preventing the soil from drying out too quickly.

It's important to get unfertilized peat in a high-quality natural state, and we at Maxibag guarantee that. Peat is often used to improve existing soil or for acid-loving plants. These plants require the correct acidity to develop properly, and the most commonly used acid-loving plant is rhododendron. Peat is often sold in compressed units, where you rarely get the correct amount. At Maxibag, we sell it in uncompressed units, so you can always be sure of the right quality and quantity of peat.

Screened Topsoil

Topsoil is not just topsoil. Quality is built on pure materials, free from weeds, with the correct balance of nutrients. Traditional topsoil is the most commonly used type of soil and is often applied to almost all garden projects. We ensure our topsoil has the right microorganisms and humus to establish the correct nutrition. As a gardener, it's important to understand how vital this humus process is for creating a healthy foundation for your plants. Quality topsoil is always easy to work with, has the correct blend of nutrients, and is suitable for many plants, bushes, and trees.

Versatile Use of Planting Soil

Planting soil is incredibly easy to use and can’t really be used incorrectly. It’s a pre-mixed soil type, ready for use, and suitable for almost all plant types. The only plants it doesn’t suit are those that require a lower pH value, in which case acidic soil is needed.

At Maxibag, we can also mix a medium acidic blend for planting soil if needed; just contact us about it. Planting soil is ready to use without you needing to do anything except plant directly into it.

How to Improve the Soil in Your Garden

It’s essential to improve your existing soil to maintain a healthy and thriving garden. The best thing you can do is buy our soil conditioner and spread it. You can do this in two ways: either spread it over the top of your existing soil, around your hedges, bushes, plants, or flowers. Rainwater will carry the nutrients down to the roots, giving your plants new life so they can bloom beautifully. Alternatively, you can dig or till the soil conditioner into the soil and then plant directly. The most important thing is not to plant directly into our soil conditioner, as it is too strong for new plants and will burn the roots.

If you're struggling with very heavy soil, sandy soil might be the right product for you. Here, you get healthy topsoil mixed with a good amount of sharp sand, which can also provide better drainage and healthier soil.

Which Type of Planting Soil Should You Choose?

We have put together a series of exclusive planting soils for almost every purpose. Each type has a product name indicating its intended use. For example, raised bed soil is specially developed for planting in raised beds, and rhododendron peat is tailored for rhododendrons. Herb soil for herbs, Potato soil for portatoes etc. Many planting soils have similar ingredients but with different proportions. For example, raised bed soil has a higher content of the soil improver clay granules than planting soil. In this way, each planting soil is specially developed for its specific application.
