Bark mulch is a natural and decorative product that keeps weeds away in garden beds and under hedges. The mulch is sourced from the bark/outer layer of Danish trees, enriching the soil and enhancing garden surfaces beautifully.
We offer bark mulch in 2 different qualities. The first quality is “regularly crushed,” broken down once. The second quality is "extra finely crushed," which has been initially crushed and then processed through a special machine to create finer pieces.

Which bark mulch is the best?
Different types of bark mulch are available, but the best usually comes from Sitka spruce, Douglas fir, and larch trees. These types are gentle on plants, offer good weed control, and are highly durable. High-quality bark mulch that also looks attractive will beautifully complement your garden.
How much bark mulch should I use?
It's crucial to lay down a sufficient amount the first time to ensure a long-lasting result. We recommend at least a 10 cm layer of bark mulch. This will ensure durability and highly effective weed suppression. With this layer, the ground underneath remains cool since sunlight doesn’t reach the soil, preventing weed growth and reducing maintenance.
What size are the pieces in the bark mulch?
Bark mulch pieces vary in size. Deliveries may include pieces from 5–10 cm to even up to 50 cm, with most in between. The large pieces, often noticeable in wet periods, will break down once they dry. Generally, the pieces are coarse, which prevents rapid decomposition. For smaller brownish pieces, consider pine bark.
Is bark mulch safe for animals?
Bark mulch is safe for animals, posing no harm to dogs or cats. We've received questions about this from customers, but there’s no cause for concern.
Is bark mulch effective against weeds?
Bark mulch is excellent for suppressing weeds and maintaining the area around hedges and beds. By keeping the soil cool, weeds cannot sprout, making it a fantastic product for a low-maintenance and attractive garden.
Bark Mulch vs. Wood Chips
Both bark mulch and wood chips are long-lasting and effective against weeds, making your garden look presentable. The main difference lies in appearance: for a light-colored, golden look, choose wood chips; for a rich brown hue, opt for bark mulch.
Bark Mulch Around Hedges
Bark mulch is ideal for use around hedges such as privet and beech. While it doesn’t fertilize, it enhances the area’s appearance and effectively controls weeds.

Standard Delivery
This delivery option, also known as curbside, allows placement on the road, curb, sidewalk, or a meter into your driveway. Just leave clear placement instructions with your order, and our experienced drivers will ensure it’s positioned as specified, even if you’re not home.
Mobile Forklift
This versatile delivery option is highly valued by our customers. The truck can access many areas effectively, including gravel roads, stony paths, or gravel driveways. Our driver will bring a truck equipped with pneumatic tires, making it ideal for these locations.
Crane Delivery
If you need the bark mulch lifted over a fence or hedge, crane delivery is the best choice. Our driver will bring a crane-equipped truck and assist with placing the product perfectly. Please note that crane trucks require adequate space, with at least 4.5 meters in height and 4 meters in width from the main road to the delivery location.

Note: When our Maxibags are delivered, the air has been compressed out to minimize space on the truck. The delivered quantity naturally corresponds to what was ordered in its spread-out state, but it will take up significantly less space when compacted in a big bag.
