Black gabion stones are large granite pieces used in gabions or in beds where a surface with larger granite pieces is desired. The gabion stones are attractive and uniformly colored (see images in wet and dry conditions), providing a stunning impression wherever they are used.

Filling a Gabion Wall

Gabion walls are a truly beautiful solution, offering a low-maintenance option. When filling the cages with gabion stones, the large stones are placed like a puzzle to ensure the wall is as well-filled as possible. This means that a big bag of 1 m³ actually fills less. When 1 m³ is delivered from us, the stones are loosely packed in the bag, and the air between the stones is not fully utilized as it would be if each stone was carefully placed.

Therefore, it is necessary to order about 20% extra in relation to the physical measurements of the frames.

In a delivered big bag, there will always be small stones and dust at the bottom of the bag. This is accounted for in the weight, but you should expect to dispose of the waste.

Delivery of Gabion Stones

When big bags/maxibags with gabion stones and other materials are delivered, it is important that the items are placed in the best possible way for you. Sidewalk / Driveway

One of our skilled drivers will deliver to your location and place the product at the curb, on the pavement, or right at the beginning of your driveway. This type of delivery is included in the price and is typically the fastest delivery method, as we send it with the next available truck.

Truck Delivery

One of our drivers will bring a mobile forklift to your location. This can be detached from the truck and can drive the maxibag down gravel paths, into gardens, onto stones, chippings, gravel, deep into your driveway, etc. This is an excellent delivery option that helps many customers get the materials close to where they will be used. Just include a description in your order of where the product should be placed, and the driver will receive this instruction and place it accordingly. You do not need to be home to indicate the placement.

The forklift is 2.5 meters wide.

Crane Delivery

We can also deliver gabion stones with a crane, which is ideal if you need the product placed over a fence, hedge, gate, etc. In this case, choose delivery by crane.

Please note that the large crane trucks require ample space. There must be a clear height of 4.5 meters and a width of 4 meters from the main road to the final delivery address. The crane truck can extend a maxibag 7-8 meters away from the truck.
