The beautiful black color really stands out when wet. In a dry state, the stone will be dark gray. Some sizes are offered in an "extra black" variant, where the stones have fewer white markings, giving them a generally darker appearance.

Note: The size of the chippings is always determined by the smallest dimension.

How to choose the right size of black granite chippings

Black granite chippings come in 5 different sizes, and it can be difficult to work out which size suits your particular needs. To a large extent, it comes down to personal taste – but here are some rules of thumb you can use as a guide to the right choice:

Black granite chippings 5-8 mm: A very small chipping, perfect for paths and flower beds
Black granite chippings 8-11 mm: Incredibly attractive in flower beds, but can also be used on paths.
Black granite chippings 11-16 mm: The typical size used in driveways
Black granite chippings 16-22 mm: A slightly coarser stone size. It can be used for driveways, but is mainly used in flower beds.
Black granite chippings 32-45 mm: A large stone used in flower beds. The large size ensures that it does not slide down if laid on a slope
Black gabion stones: Very large chippings used in gabion baskets.

Extra black granite chippings

In addition to our ordinary black granite chippings, Maxibag also offers an exclusive range of extra black granite chippings. These chippings are found in only one place in the world, and supply is limited. In isolation, the black colour is roughly the same as on the ordinary chippings, but the white markings in the chippings are virtually non-existent, which makes the overall look darker.

The extra black granite chippings are available in the following sizes:

Extra black granite chippings 11-16 mm: Often used in driveways but also attractive in flower beds

Delivery of black granite chippings

Granite is a heavy product, so of course you need the goods placed where you are going to use them, or as close to that spot as possible. We offer three different delivery methods.

Standard delivery

Our standard delivery, also called "pavement / driveway", is the delivery method to choose if you would like your maxibag placed on the road, at the kerb, on the pavement or just one metre inside your driveway. In that case, choose this free delivery method. We recommend that you describe in your order where you would like the goods placed, so the driver has something to go by.

Delivery by mobile forklift

Choose this delivery solution if you need your maxibag moved with a self-propelled forklift with pneumatic tyres. Our driver comes to you with a lorry carrying this special forklift on the back. The driver can take the forklift off the lorry and drive the goods from the lorry to wherever you want them placed. Such a forklift can drive on all firm surfaces such as stone, shingle, dry grass, asphalt and gravel roads. It is also used for deliveries to many allotments, where conditions can be difficult for larger lorries.

Delivery by crane

This delivery method is right for you if you need your maxibag of granite chippings lifted over a fence or hedge. It may also be other places where the goods need to go over something and into, for example, your garden. The driver comes to you with a crane lorry and places the goods where you want them.
