Cobble Stones in the size range of 60-80 mm (Small Stones)

We offer cobble stones in the size range of 60-80 mm, sourced from the Jyske Rev, where the stones are beautifully rounded. These cobble stones are used for paving projects where an old, classic style is desired. Cobble stones are often used for paving on historic farmsteads with old stone buildings. In the past, cobble stones were set in soil, while today they are laid in sand. The foundation beneath cobble stone paving is constructed in the same way as for standard paving work.

In the Jyske Rev, we find the most beautiful, rounded, and naturally polished stones. These stones were carried from Norway to the Jyske Rev by glaciers during the last ice age. Large amounts of rock masses were transported to the Jyske Rev and transformed into the finest natural stones. Over thousands of years, the powerful and relentless currents of the North Sea have naturally shaped these stones into their rounded forms.

Cobble stones are also available in a larger size – 80-120 mm. We recommend the larger cobble stones for filling gabions and paving larger areas.

Laying Cobble Stones

For areas subject to significant loads from cars or similar, lay a base of 15-20 cm of stabilized gravel with 10 cm of paving sand on top. Remember to tamp thoroughly. For areas with light foot traffic, such as pathways, lay a base of 5-10 cm of stabilized gravel with 7-8 cm of paving sand.

You can expect 1 m³ of cobble stones to cover an area of approximately 7-9 m².

The price listed at the top of this page includes delivery to the sidewalk/driveway, provided there is a fixed bridge connection. Note: These stones are not hand-sorted. Therefore, the delivered Maxibag will contain some smaller stones and sand, which accounts for approximately 10% of the total weight. We have adjusted for this accordingly, so the delivery matches the ordered quantity. However, you should expect a bit of surplus material.
