Everything you need to know about Leca® Safe for effective and gentle winter maintenance

Ice and snow control with traditional road salt and heavy grit often brings many drawbacks: road salt burns dogs' paws, damages paving stones, corrodes concrete and asphalt and harms hedges and trees along the paths. At the same time, heavy grit is hard to handle, and it easily blocks sewers and silt traps in spring.

Leca® Safe has been developed to solve all these problems in one go.

The biggest advantages of Leca® Safe:

• 100% gentle on animals and plants: The material contains no salts or harmful substances. It protects animal paws from burning and causes no damage to paving or garden plants.

• Long-lasting slip resistance (floats in frost and thaw): Leca® Safe granules have a very low density. If the snow melts and refreezes, the material floats up and settles on the surface instead of being covered by ice. This means you keep your grip through changing temperatures without having to spread all the time.

• Extremely economical and easy to spread: 10 litres of Leca® Safe weighs only approx. 3 kg but covers as much as 100 m² of walkway. This makes spreading considerably easier on your back compared with heavy grit.

• No blocked drains in spring: When snow and ice melt, the expanded clay granules are carried with the meltwater out of silt traps and pipes. At the treatment plant, the granules float on top, where they can easily be skimmed off and reused as a soil conditioner.

• Leca® Safe 500 litres (0.5 m³)

  • Coverage: Covers up to 5,000 m² of walkway.

  • Use: Ideal for private homeowners, smaller housing associations or smaller commercial properties that want to keep paths and driveways safe through the winter.

• Leca® Safe 1000 litres (1.0 m³)

  • Coverage: Covers up to 10,000 m² of walkway.

  • Use: Our most popular choice for housing associations, institutions and businesses with medium-sized path systems and access roads.

• Leca® Safe 2000 litres (2.0 m³)

  • Coverage: Covers up to 20,000 m² of walkway.

  • Use: Ideal for larger homeowners' associations, shopping centres, car parks and schools, where large areas need to be covered quickly and effectively.

• Leca® Safe 4000 litres (4.0 m³)

  • Coverage: Covers up to 40,000 m² of walkway.

  • Use: The largest and most economical solution for professional landscape gardeners, contractors and municipal operations departments responsible for extensive winter maintenance.

Flexible delivery straight to the project

At Maxibag we deliver Leca® Safe throughout Denmark. You choose the delivery method that best suits your storage area or depot: standard delivery to driveway/pavement, mobile forklift for narrow roads or gravel surfaces, or crane delivery if the bag needs to be lifted over a fence or placed directly in an enclosed area.
