What is AquaLight Gravel?

AquaLight Gravel is made from fired clay and is used as a bedding layer under paving slabs, tiles and paving stones – just like ordinary paving sand. The difference is the weight: AquaLight Gravel weighs only approx. 350 kg per m³, whereas ordinary paving sand weighs around four times as much.

When weight is a challenge

The low weight makes AquaLight Gravel the obvious choice on roof terraces, balconies, canopies, floor decks and other structures with limited load-bearing capacity, where a traditional build-up with paving sand becomes too heavy. The low weight also makes the material easier to handle and spread.

Absorbs water and retains its load-bearing capacity

Because AquaLight Gravel is made from fired clay, it can absorb water. In ordinary paving sand, the clay can be washed out over time, so the base loses its load-bearing effect. This does not happen with AquaLight Gravel, which keeps its stability year after year.

Choose the right size

• AquaLight Gravel 1000 litres – approx. 350 kg, covers approx. 20 m² at a 5 cm layer
• AquaLight Gravel 2000 litres – approx. 700 kg, covers approx. 40 m² at a 5 cm layer
• AquaLight Gravel 3000 litres – approx. 1050 kg, covers approx. 60 m² at a 5 cm layer
• AquaLight Gravel 4000 litres – approx. 1400 kg, covers approx. 80 m² at a 5 cm layer
