Sea Pebbles
Our beautiful Sea Pebbles and Cobbles are nature’s pearls, of an exceptionally high and beautiful quality. These types of lake gravel are available in different sizes, each with its own characteristics. Our Sea stones feature a harmonious blend of warm colours, creating a calm and elegant look. The stones are very rounded and therefore very comfortable to walk on.
The stones are delivered in maxibags of either 1000 kg or 1500 kg. You can read much more about the individual variants on the product pages, or get a general overview in the text further down the page.
Note: The stone size is always specified based on its narrowest dimension.
Beautiful rounded sea stones with stunning colours
Our sea stones are completely unique with their beautifully rounded shape. To understand how the stones became so smooth and round, we need to go back many thousands of years to the Ice Age. During this period, massive rock formations were pushed from Norway out into the North Sea. These rock formations were made of granite, which we also know from granite chippings, and over thousands of years they were transformed into stones of various sizes.
The sea’s constant erosion and movement have polished the stones into their smooth and beautiful form. It is a remarkable story and journey these stones have been on, and there is no stone in the world more beautiful and fascinating than this type.
A wide selection of sea stones for different purposes
We offer 4 different sizes of sea stones, all featuring incredibly rich, deep, and dark colours. It is important to choose the stone size that best suits your project. Below you will find an overview, and of course you can find much more information on the individual product pages:
- North Sea Pebbles 4–8 mm: The smallest of our sea stones. Particularly suitable for pathways and garden beds.
- North Sea Pebbles 8–16 mm: A type of stone especially well suited for driveways.
- North Sea Pebbles 16–32 mm: A stone type ideal for garden beds or driveways where a slightly coarser look is desired.
- North Sea Cobbles 32–60 mm: The largest of the four stone types. Used around foundations or in garden beds.
How our sea stones are delivered
When you order sea stones from Maxibag, they are delivered in large bigbags that are easy for you as a customer to handle. You can work at your own pace – or alternatively cut open the bag so the contents flow out where they are needed. The bigbag can be placed exactly where you need it, as you can choose delivery by mobile truck or by crane.
Standard delivery
Our standard delivery is included in the price. Unloading takes place in the immediate vicinity of the truck, for example on the pavement or in the driveway. If you live on a rural property with a turning area where the bigbag can be placed, this is also the delivery type you should choose.
Mobile truck delivery
Our mobile truck can access almost anywhere. If delivery is required in a summer house area or an allotment garden, it can often be difficult for large trucks to get there. With this delivery option, the bag can often be driven directly to where it is needed – saving you a lot of heavy lifting.
Note: A mobile truck requires a width of 2.5 metres.
Crane delivery
Delivery by crane is a smart solution if the delivery needs to go over a hedge or another obstacle. It can also be a good option if the maxibag needs to be placed in an area where weed control fabric has already been laid.
Please note that large crane trucks require plenty of space. From the main road to the final delivery address, there must be a clearance height of 4.5 metres and a width of 4 metres.
The crane truck can reach a maxibag 6–7 metres away from the crane vehicle.
