It’s a myth that white granite chippings quickly become unsightly due to algae and moss. White granite chippings are of the same quality as any other granite chippings and remain beautiful.

When you receive the white chippings, they will be full of clay and may appear darker than they actually are. But once rinsed and dried, they will look bright and white.

How thick should the layer be?

For this type of white granite chippings, we recommend a layer of 5 cm. This means that 1 m³ covers 20 m². Especially in a driveway, it's important that the layer is not too thick, as cars may otherwise get stuck. It’s important to properly cover the ground, but there’s no need to use more than necessary. The angular stones will pack together and create a solid and stable surface.

If the chippings are used in a garden bed, however, a thicker layer is a good idea, as it makes it harder for weeds to grow through.

If you often walk or drive on granite chippings, the sharp edges will make it difficult for weeds to grow. In areas without traffic, it can be helpful to rake the chippings from time to time. To make it easier for yourself, you can benefit from laying a weed barrier under the chippings. You can buy a high-quality weed barrier here on the site when you place your order. The fabric is thick and effectively prevents a large amount of weeds from coming through.

Another option is to lay a layer of white stone dust under the chippings. Not only does it create a nice base, but stone dust is also highly effective against weeds. The best solution is a combination of weed barrier and stone dust, which will save you a lot of work once it’s laid.

Granite chippings are heavy – 1 m³ weighs around 1500 kg. Therefore, it’s important to have them delivered as close as possible to where they’re needed. We offer several delivery options.

Delivery to Sidewalk/Driveway

Our free "Sidewalk/Driveway" delivery means that the chippings are placed near where the truck can park. This means at the beginning of the driveway or on the sidewalk. This is an ideal solution if the stones are intended for use in the driveway.

Forklift Delivery

You can also choose forklift delivery. This truck is only 2.5 meters wide and can turn in very tight spaces. It’s a perfect solution if you want the chippings delivered further onto your property. It’s also practical in areas with narrow roads, such as garden associations, where large trucks can’t fit. The truck can easily drive up to 100 meters and can maneuver on most surfaces.

Crane Delivery

The third option is crane delivery, which is ideal if you need the big bag lifted over a hedge or fence. This solution saves you heavy lifting.

Please note that crane trucks require good space. There must be a clearance of 4.5 meters in height and 4 meters in width all the way from the main road to the delivery site. The crane truck can lift a maxibag 7-8 meters away from the truck.
